Bergen County prosecutors say a Ramsey mother, tipped by a neighbor, used software to uncover her teenage daughter was having sex with a man she met online.

Authorities said the software allowed the mom to copy chats between the 15-year-old and a 42-year-old married real estate broker from Oreland, Pa.

Authorities said the pair met through the Netlog.com networking site in April. Authorities said they chatted online for a few weeks before meeting at least twice for sex at a motel.

"It's a complete shock," said the mom whose name is being withheld by The Record of Bergen County. "She hasn't dated much. She doesn't wear makeup. She's not one of these `hot' kids, strutting all over the place."

Undercover detectives posed as a 14-year-old girl to lure Joseph Maloney to the town on Friday.

Maloney is held on $150,000 bail, charged with sexual assault, luring and child endangerment.
