Pages are flying out of some books in Jacksonville libraries after it was learned that copies of a popular children's series includes a phone number for a sex line.

Librarians are working to make sure kids don't accidentally dial the number and hear the inappropriate messages.

"I could not believe it when you told me," said concerned parent Olivia Harper. "It's just scary."

The phone number for the sex line is printed on the last page in a popular children's book series called the Magic Attic Club.

"(I'm) very angry because I don't want my kids to get hold of something like that and parents are trying to keep their kids away from it," Harper said.

When Channel 4 first told the Main Library about the problem, it was very concerned but quickly came up with a good solution -- tearing out the inappropriate pages.

"We are just glad it was brought to our attention and now we can fix the problem," said library spokeswoman Stacie Bucher.
"Fortunately in this case this page with the phone number is perforated, so we can just take it out. That's going to be our solution here at the library."

However, for many parents the problem was deeper than a simple rip in a book. They said relaxing is the last thing parents can do.

"Kids are learning things too early these days and it's just another way that they are going down the avenue," one concerned parent said. "Something like this they should be protected."
