A Norfolk police constable has been suspended after being questioned over allegations of a serious sexual assault.

Police said a sex attack took place in the Norwich area on Friday.

The officer has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

In a statement a spokesman for Norfolk Police said: "As is usual in such cases, the matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission."
