Online Sex Sting Nets 6 Accused Prostitutes

Sep 14, 2007

Daytona Beach police arrested six women in three hours on Thursday after setting up an online sex sting in a motel.

Officials said they noticed a recent spike in online listings on craigslist.org. Many had the 386 area code, which covers Daytona Beach.

The listings seemed to offer sexual favors for money. Police officers contacted the women in the listings and arranged meetings at an area motel.

During the undercover sting, the women denied they were trading sex for money.

One suspect said she was there to dance; another said she got paid for her time, not for sex.
