A Taylor mother convicted of offering her child for sex over the Internet will spend the next 9 1/2 to 20 years in prison.

Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Deborah Thomas sentenced the 34-year-old woman Thursday on six counts of using a computer for child sexually abusive activity and distributing child sexually abusive material.

The woman, who The News is not naming to protect the identity of her 7-year-old daughter, had pleaded no contest to the charges.

Wayne County sheriff's deputies arrested the woman March 30 at a Romulus hotel where a rendezvous had been set up with a man she thought was going to pay her for sex with the daughter, sheriff's officials said. The man she was meeting actually was a deputy posing as a pedophile.

The woman had her daughter, costumes and sex toys on her at the time of the arrest.
