The former LSU student and Lafayette native who pleaded guilty to having thousands of images of child porn has received a new sentence, one that federal prosecutors feel is more fitting for his crime.

After 23-year-old Bruce Perrin pleaded guilty in 2005, the judge sentenced him to five years in prison and five years probation. Usually, a person sentenced for the same crime gets ten to 12 years.

U.S. attorneys appealed the original sentence, and Friday, the court re-sentenced Perrin to nine years in prison and ten years supervised probation.

The pictures and videos police found at Perrin's home showed adults raping young children and other very young children being forced to have sex with dogs.
