Convicted sex offender accused of fondling girl, 12

Aug 16, 2007

A 41-year-old convicted sex offender is accused of fondling a 12-year-old girl while staying at a home on Pioneer Parkway in July.

The owner of the home, a 37-year-old woman, said the girl and the man, along with other people, were staying at her residence during the weekend of the Fond du Lac County Fair, according to a Fond du Lac Police Department report.

Early on July 22, the adults returned to her home after a night of drinking, according to the report.

The girl was sleeping in the living room when the man told the woman he was going to "mess around" with her, according to the report.

The woman said she later saw the man fondling the girl's breasts, according to the report.

Fond du Lac police learned of the incident on Aug. 7, and following an investigation, have referred a charge of sexual assault of a child to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney's Office, according to the report.

Court records show that in 1990, the man was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child in Sheboygan County.
