Porn star Jenna Jameson has landed a new role - as a comic book star.
The adult film actress appears as super-heroine Shadow Hunter fighting the forces of evil in an upcoming graphic novel series.

But fans shouldn't get too excited.

She bares no more than her knuckles and some cleavage, according to US reports.

Jameson, 33, who has starred in more than 200 X-rated movies, said: "Working with comics is creatively liberating - everything is possible. My character is sultry, sexy and kicks ass."

The 144-page "Shadow Hunter" book, published by Virgin Comics, hits bookstores in June 2008.

Virgin Comics publisher Sharad Devarajan told a US newspaper: "She is an entrepreneur who is taking the taboo to the mainstream and has built an industry around her brand."

The story features Shadow Hunter surviving a brush with death only to find she's fighting the legions of hell for her soul. The plot involves no nudity and is aimed at a mainstream audience.

It comes as Jameso, born Jennifer Marie Massoli, is trying to get Hollywood studios to make a movie of her autobiography, "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale".
