The Gomti Nagar Police arrested four sex workers and a pimp from the Vinay Khand locality of the city late on Sunday night.

According to the police, pimp Pappu Sachan was dealing with two youths near the Vinay Khand crossing when the police arrested them. However, the youths managed to flee from the spot. "Pappu is originally a native of the Nasik District in Maharashtra and the girls belong to various localities of the city. He used to live in a rented house in the Vishal Khand locality and would operate from there. The residents of the locality had approached us a number of times and informed us about his activities. However, it was only on Sunday night, when we received a tip off, that we were able to catch him in the act of dealing with customers. However, the customers, both in the mid twenties, managed to escape from the spot. We are making efforts to nab them," said Gomti Nagar SO B N Singh.
