Polk County, Florida - Chat Pease, a 31 year old from Orlando; Clifford Burdick, from St. Petersburg; a volunteer firefighter; a pizza cook; and a Lockheed Martin engineer: All snagged in Operation Guardian - the Polk County Sheriff's Office third undercover online sex sting this year.

“Despite network coverage across the nation our arrests don't seem to go down,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. ”They seem to increase. Without fail when we ask them, ‘Have you seen any of this on TV?’ Every one of them tells us they have.”

In this sting, Polk County deputies caught 50-year old Joseph Cioffi of Altamonte Springs. He worked as a security screener for Homeland Security at the Orlando Airport. 42-year-old David Ronan was supposed to begin a job as a full-time dispatcher with Osceola Fire and Rescue. Instead he was sent to jail and is now out of a job.

“It is absolutely frightening that the people we trust to keep us safe are violating the law,” Grady said.

Polk County led the multi-agency sting. Detectives used chat rooms and instant messaging to direct suspects to the location.

“They'll tell us stories like, “I came here to take the child out,” …to explain to the child how dangerous this was. We all know that's not true they come here with instruments and toys. They come here to ravish children,” he said.

One of those arrested, 22-year-old Nathan Galbraith, volunteered as a youth hockey coach for an Orlando team. 18-year-old Jesse Nieves worked at Universal Studios, where he was a rental agent for strollers.

“We're going to continue these operations. We're going to lock these predators up in jail and we mean for them to go to prison for a very long time,” Grady said.

Almost all of those arrested were from Central Florida. One man was from Washington State; he took a cab from an Orlando hotel to the house. Another man as a registered sexual predator in Ohio.
